Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This policy covers the Wavelength web app, the Wavelength Chrome extension, and the Wavelength Slack app (together, "Wavelength").

Your messages stay yours

Wavelength is designed with privacy at its core. We believe your communication is yours, and our technology reflects that principle.

Message Processing

Analyzed in real time, never stored

Your draft is sent to our servers for analysis, processed transiently, and discarded. We keep a record that a suggestion was shown or accepted — not what the message said.

When you compose a message, Wavelength transmits your draft and the recipient you're writing to over an encrypted connection to our servers, where it is analyzed in real time to generate communication suggestions. Analysis happens in-memory: the content of your draft is never written to our database or logs.

After analysis, we retain only coaching metadata — a communication-fit score, which style dimensions were flagged, whether a suggestion was shown or accepted, the platform (email or Slack), the recipient's Wavelength profile ID, and a timestamp. We retain this metadata to show you your coaching history and improve your experience.

AI Processing

Wavelength uses Anthropic's Claude API to analyze drafts and generate suggestions. Your draft is shared with Anthropic solely for this purpose. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, your data is not used to train their models. Neither Wavelength nor our AI provider uses your message content for model training.

Chrome Extension

The Wavelength Chrome extension runs only on the sites it supports (such as Gmail) and activates only while you are composing a message. It reads your draft and the recipient field in order to provide real-time suggestions, and transmits them to our servers as described above. It does not read your inbox, browsing history, or any page outside the compose experience.

The extension does not collect data for any purpose unrelated to communication coaching, and we do not sell or transfer this data to third parties except the AI processing described above.

Personality Data

Personality data is opt-in

You control what dimensions of your profile teammates can see. DISC but not Enneagram? Your call.

Assessment results and personality profiles are stored securely and shared only with your explicit consent. You maintain complete control over what aspects of your profile are visible to teammates.

Security & Compliance

Privacy by design

Zero data sold to third parties. Your communication data is never used to train AI models — ours or our providers'. Our business is subscriptions, not surveillance.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption at rest and in transit, regular security audits, and strict access controls.

Data We Store

  • Account information (name, email, company)
  • Assessment results and personality profiles (with your consent)
  • Coaching metadata (communication-fit scores, style dimensions flagged, whether suggestions were shown or accepted, platform, recipient profile, timestamp)
  • Technical data (IP address, browser type, for security)

Data We Never Store

  • The content of your messages or drafts — analyzed transiently, then discarded
  • Suggested rewrites after they are delivered to you
  • Your inbox, message history, or anything you aren't actively composing

Retention & Deletion

We retain account data and coaching metadata while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting privacy@mywavelength.ai, and we will complete the deletion within 30 days.
